Recovery Inclusive Community Events

Project Overview

Recovery Inclusive Community Events (RICE) aims to bring a safe, recovery-friendly presence to community events, such as festivals, farmers markets, fairs and youth events. We provide outreach through resources and information to folks interested in recovery, for family members or to the community as a whole. We aim to reduce stigma around Substance Use Disorder, provide information & referral, trainings and prevention, all while having fun!

Community events can sometimes be overwhelming and unwelcoming to people in recovery. RICE fills in the gap, tabling at community events, providing a safe, welcoming presence. By allowing marginalized folks the space to feel welcome and included, feelings of stigma can be reduced. When we allow community members to share in the joy of recovery, hope spreads.
