Naloxone Request Form – Request free Naloxone through the Vermont Department of Health’s program.

Opioid Overdose Prevention & Naloxone Rescue Program – The Health Department provides naloxone (Narcan®) and training through collaborations with community-based organizations. These partners distribute naloxone and provide overdose response training, opioid misuse prevention training and referrals to treatment across Vermont.

Overdose Response Strategies: New England High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area – New England HIDTA has been awarded discretionary funds to support the regional Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) developed and implemented by five HIDTAs most affected by the heroin/opioid epidemic sweeping the northeast. The ORS launched a comprehensive and unified strategy with the overarching goal of reducing drug overdose deaths by facilitating collaboration between public health and public safety.

Their patient-focused approaches are sensitive to the demographics and needs of rural populations, which have been disproportionately impacted by Substance Use Disorder.

New England High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area – One of thirty-two HIDTAs under the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and is comprised of the six New England states, including Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Based on regional drug threat assessments, including the New England HIDTA Drug Threat Assessment published annually by the New England HIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC), the New England HIDTA has formulated strategies in response to the most serious drug threats to the region.

Prevention Works VT! – Their mission is to unify voices and be a guiding force on policy, practice and attitudes that promote substance misuse prevention, health and wellness in Vermont. Their vision is a strong, sustainable and unified system to prevention substance misuse in the state. Prevention Works! VT collaborates with local substance misuse coalitions and other community organizations to supporting healthy living for all Vermonters.

Vermont Suicide Prevention Center – The Vermont Suicide Prevention Coalition consists of over 70 active members across public, private and non-profit sectors representing public health, health care, education, community and social services, state agencies and people with lived experience.

Training

Essex County Youth Leadership Academy: New England High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area – A summer program designed to offer at-risk children, ages 8-15, a safe, challenging, and fun atmosphere through the completion of various projects and classes.  This drug, alcohol and tobacco free program provides instruction in anger management, ethics, peer counseling, teamwork, illegal drug use, and cooperation in a gang-free and drug-free environment.
